lahug house organization

the photos here are just thumbnails. to enlarge, click on it then click the "back" button of your browser to return to this document.

first let me start with master dressing room.

photos and mementos:

mama's finished products and electric appliance in soap business (because there is a plug outlet. although there is also an outlet under her work table in the bedroom as you will see later):

in the bathroom cabinet are anything related to first aid and grooming (shavers, nail cutters, tweezers, ...). it also has bathroom supplies (toilet paper, ...). on top are reading materials. i added a bum gun, installed a switch for the mirror light, and replaced the leaking sink faucet. i also replaced the toilet fill valve with a leak sentry so if there is a leak we don't get an astronomical water bill.

next we go to the master bedroom. first stop are the documents. the left side is devoted to work and business related documents (papa's consultancy projects ....). the big box contains the selecta case files which is still pending. i chose this side because it's where the printer is located. the right flank is devoted to properties. so it makes sense to put the steel cabinet there. everything is categorized and properly labeled. the originals are in the steel cabinets. there's also a folder box containing copies of passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, bio-data, resumes .....). it even has lolo munding's and papa's impressive CV or resume. i also added a lamp and 3 plug outlet for the study table.

all office supplies are conveniently located in the study table drawer. paper supplies, forms, folders and envelopes are in the printer area. it also has the receipts, warranties and appliance manuals. the drawer also has small electronic stuff such as magic jack, batteries, adapters and flash drives. it also has keys and guitar strings.

the right bedside table has the religious pamphlets, books and rosaries. the pamphlets are in a folder box so it looks nice and organized. the shoe box contains candles and matches as labeled. notice i put the palm sunday leaves in a water bottle cut out and tacked it to the wall so it looks nice and clean.

next we go to the windows wall and tv cabinet area. the left side table has the lotions, tissues, grooming stuff (comb, nail cutter ...), pens, vape and pipe stuff, pills and medications, hearing aid, blood pressure monitor. i also organized mama's sewing materials and refurbished her sewing machine because it was falling apart and she just used electrical tape to keep it together. for "vintage motif" consistency i added papa's still complete lynx golf set and our old family photo. the side photos are bowie, mia and lola munding and lola dida. someone please add a similar size photo of yogi and lola laling for completeness. the tv cabinet contains the speakers, dvd player, magic mic, a box containing glasses and shades, and a jar containing shoe laces properly labeled.

for security purposes and easy monitoring of those who borrow, i thought the essential tools and power tools should be in the master bedroom. for convenience, i placed the power grinder, hammer drill and it's essential accessories including the extension chord in a hard suitcase. note i had the hammer drill nose replaced for P500 so now it's much easier to replace drill bits. i placed commonly used tools as as pliers, screw drivers,  .... in a tool box. i placed the hammer and saws in a pail. the metric open wrenches and socket wrenches are in a separate pale. the english socket and open wrenches are in the storage cabinet because they are rarely used. i also bought a rechargeable flash light. i tied the charging chord of the flash light to the flash light so you don't have to run around looking for the chord whenever you need to charge it. the other power tools and transformer are in the plastic box.

next we go to the sala area. the large cabinet near the master bedroom door contains supplies and tools for mama's crafts. the topmost shelf contains the fabrics and cloths. it's topmost because i assume it's the least frequently accessed. next are the salon and beauty care, then the jars, then packaging materials, them misc containers, then liquid chemicals, then power chemicals, then beads/rosary making, then knitting. all are labeled so it's easy to find anything.

near the main door, we have the golf clubs and auto supplies frequently used such as oil, brake fluid, and cleaning materials. it's where the trash can is also located. the side table in the dining area is where the fruit bins, dish covers and place mats are located.

i already posted the kitchen organization before (https://ian-crystal.blogspot.com/2019/06/prolong-your-life-by-organizing.html) so i will just add here what i left out. i created a kitchen clean procedure document which includes proper washing of dishes. the staff has been well trained on this. if you need to edit it, just edit this document and then cut and paste to a word document then print it  - https://reyondit.blogspot.com/2019/08/kitchen-cleaning-procedure.html. i also replaced the screen. i also kept 2 large bottles of filtered water in case of water outages.

on top of the freezer are the different plastic bags properly labeled. the top of the fridge has the cook books and pen and paper for writing down shopping the shopping list. i also covered the stove shelf with lining.

the storage room has the non essential tools. i replaced the light switch ad socket because live wires were sticking out. at the bottom is the tiling section - tiles, wicks, trowels, cement .... above it, you have a pail for tigib and limbas, a pail for cutter and scissors, a container for putty knives, a pail for measuring devices and levelers, a pail for special or rare tools and a box for rarely used power tools accessories such as making holes when installing doors. it also has the english socket and open wrenches and surplus tools or duplicates (it's inefficient to have 5 pliers and 7 screw drivers of the same kind in your tool box that you bring to the project sight). the shelf above contains miscellaneous sports equipments and gadgets. the top shelf contains the paintings and gaby's stuff toys. on the floor are pails for masos and different types of saws. it also has the spade and rake for gardening.

the storage room also has mama's sewing and knitting machines, an old typewriter, old but still usable golf bags. it also has 2 boxes belonging to gikom. the large compressor and compressor gun is also here. the beach accessories such as floats, pumps and life jackets are also here. one shelf also contains old electronics and speakers.

next up is the hardware supplies closet in the terrace. note i used transparent plastic bottle cut outs when appropriate so it's easy to see what's inside with just a quick glance. from top to bottom, you have sacks, bags and travel bags. next are the stuff for cars and motors. next are related to electrical. then you have screws, bolts, hooks, tacks, nails, staples, screw sleeves, wire connectors, clamps and brackets. next are gloves, goggles, flashlights, and masks. then you have stuffs for doors, cabinets and furniture. then a section for ropes, ties, chords, zip ties, and rubber ties. next is a section for putties, glues and sealants. then liners, tapes, and sand paper. then a section for cleaning supplies. then at the bottom most is a cabinet for paints and lacquers and a cabinet for pest control.

the brown cabinet beside has the section for plumbing and a section for gardening. above that is where you put boxes of new appliances with warranties in case you need to return the item with the box. just be considerate and throw away the box after the warranty expires. or flatten it and put it in the "empty boxes" section. on top of my water generator are empty tool boxes.

the large bookshelf in the terrace will have the books. the bottom part are large cabinets where i will put the linens and towels if we proceed with the airnbnb or hostel business while mama and papa are in the states.

i hope you keep it organized. it makes our lives easier, less stressful, and more efficient. i'm doing all of this because i'm a very lazy person. i don't want to spend an hour just looking for a scotch tape or torture myself trying to decide whether i should look for a scotch tape or just go out to the store and buy one even if there are 10 scotch tapes in the house but don't know where it is. cleanliness is also good for our health.
